Population Solutions for Health (PSH) is a locally registered trust with a 23-year record of high impact implementation in HIV and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) programs.

PSH places clients and providers at the centre of program design and implementation through an adapted Human Centered Design approach to overcome barriers to reaching specific populations such as boys, high-risk men, Key Populations, and Adolescent Girls and Young Women. Population Solutions for Health

provides Integrated HIV and SRHR clinical services and insight-driven communications which also address GBV and child marriages.

Integrated clinical services include:

  • HIV testing services.
  • COVID-19 testing and vaccination
  • VMMC.
  • PrEP.
  • Linkages to ART or onsite same-day ART initiation for clients with limited access (e.g., KP subpopulations).
  • TB screening, diagnosis treatment and isoniazid preventative therapy (IPT).
  • Cervical cancer screening and treatment.
  • Short-term and long-acting reversible contraceptives.
  • Sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening and treatment.
  • Comprehensive services for survivors of violence.

Population Solutions for Health is a partner of Population Services International  Global with more than 50 years of experience to tackle the health challenges affecting people around the world.

HIV Prevention & Treatment

Population Solutions for Health is a leader in community-based and differentiated HIV service delivery, serving AGYW, men and boys, and KPs. PSH’s HIV programming spans the clinical cascade and includes social marketing of male condoms; VMMC; HTS (with a focus on case finding and HIVST); community-based HIV treatment; PrEP and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). PSH also delivers TB screening, diagnosis, IPT.

Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights

Implemented through leveraged funding from USAID and the Embassy of Sweden, Population Solutions for Health aims to deliver high-quality SRHR health services through integrated New Start and ProFam public sector sites. SRHR services include: Family planning, Cervical Cancer Prevention, Services for survivors of sexual violence, Management of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and Menstrual Health Management.

Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision

Population Solutions for Health supports 49 districts VMMC services; 22 funded by USAID and 27 by BMGF and has circumcised over 1 million men and boys to date.

Gender Based Violence

Population Solutions for Health provides services for survivors of sexual violence through partner organizations, Adult Rape Clinic (ARC) and Family Support Trust (FST). PSH recently launched the Love Shouldn't Hurt campaign with funding from the Embassy of Sweden using human centered design approaches. The campaign aims to create a movement of male peers against GBV.

COVID-19 Testing & Vaccination

With support from USAID, PSH’s Service delivery includes vaccine testing through 7 New Start centers to reach workplace, faith communities and marginalized populations.

Condom Distribution

Population Solutions for Health (PSH) has been supporting Zimbabwe’s condom market since 1996 with the socially marketed Protector Plus condom. Protector Plus, a previously partially subsidised condom, currently represents about 22% of Zimbabwe’s overall condom market and is the leading condom brand in the country (more than 90% of sold condoms).
